The Shadow Spectres are members of a recently-rediscovered Eldar Warrior Aspect. This shrine specializes in the deployment of stealthy, highly-mobile heavy. Alaitoc would be -2 to hit, good movement, decent guns. Why not?. So I’ve been tempted by the Shadow Spectres mainly due to the models being cool.

spectrss Are Shadow Spectres Any Good? I personally enjoy them and most lists at the beginning of 8e and especially when the CWE codex was released considered them an auto include.
After the Chapter Approved update to the game, they became much more expensive to run and most lists have dropped them. They are particularly effective in leadership bomb lists or against horde armies due to their versatility of their shooting attacks. At the moment they are mostly thought of as a “if you have the spare points against a horde army, take a few” but otherwise most people elect to spend their point on other things. They’re ok, a bit pricey.

Really cool models, they work well with psykers on jet bikes. Guide and conceal are especially strong with them. Alaitoc give them -1 outside of 12″. Since their range is 8″”, it’s not too hard for your opponent to get inside of this and negate it. If money is no consideration, then they are a perfectly okay addition, but shining spears usually do their job better. Yeah they are really pricey money-wise. I just think shining spears look So Lame. I just finished assembling and painting 6 Reavers so I can’t imagine forcing myself to look at the shining spears model now.
Too bad about the points increase. Why does it seem there are only 3 shadwo codex Eldar datasheets Reapers Spears Hemlock. I and I believe most people converted their spears up from windriders. Yea the old model is garbage. Part of it is that those units are so good that overshadow the others. Wave serpents and fire prisms are great though. Farseers, warlocks, and autarchs are super good.
I’d really say we only have a handful of “bad” sjadow Most of the rest are perfectly fieldable. Autarch skyrunner is generally better then wings with the deepstrike changes.
Plus they can take a laser lance which is killer. If you’re autarch is hanging in back, it’s best to just take an autarch on foot and save the points. I guess I was asking how viable you thought swooping hawks are atm.
I like those models. I guess w the deepstrike changes they could be deployed out of LOS turn 1 and have a decent chance of being in range. Ah, they are okay horde clearers at 24″ of range and they can safely go back up into the clouds after they first deploy for repositioning.
Unfortunately, their damage is lackluster for the points so I don’t bring them. Doom is pretty much required for them to be effective unless you’re facing another primarily T3 army and even then it helps. Plan to bring a farseer on a bike.
