The Best Books of It starts out with Lucy pedalling on her bike to see Shadow, a Graffiti artist whose works she’s obsessed with. There is nothing more evocative – or more difficult – than putting to words the energy and passion that comes from art, and somehow Cath Crowley had gathered that up and molded it into a beautiful love story where two artists realize that they speak the same language.

See this, see this.

Both books thrive in the arts. It had a balanced flow of ups and downs, emotion and humor, and secrets and lies.

The truth is better. Atticus Finch would never have done that. I may not be able to express my love for this book by painting, but I can do it by shopping! Three persons narrated Graffiti Moon: It’s about art and beauty, it’s full of life and emotion, it will make you happy and sad, and at the end it will win your heart. YA Aussie authors, that’s the new magic word! This is when I wish I were a writer, someone who could capture this achy, bittersweet feeling that lingers even today.

But when Ed tells her he knows where to find Shadow, they’re suddenly on an all-night search around the city. The writing has lyrical feel to it and Crowley definitely has a way with words. Ed, the last guy she wants to see at the moment, says he knows where to find him.

With art, flashbacks and just the right amount of commentaries, I enjoyed this. The writing is poetic. I can’t draw, I can’t play music, sing or dance and I am no writer.

And where are they now? Plus, Leo and Dylan claim to know who Shadow and Poet are, so they could spend the night looking for them at all their haunts.

Ugh, I seriously don’t understand what Ed likes about her.
