There are two schools of thought here. Sound quality is severely compromised when the SPiKe circuitry is enabled, so to prevent this we need a heat sink with a thermal resistance low enough to dissipate the maximum power dissipated by the LM This will give good protection to the actual amp circuit but will not blow for shorted bridges or lytics!
